Shivani
dances for Her Majesty The Queen.
A teenage Marathi
dancer, Shivani Amdekar from London performed Bharatnatyan to welcome
the queen. The performance took place during a visit by the Queen Elizabeth
and the Duke of Edinburgh to a Hindu Temple in Highgate, north London
as a part of her Golden Jubilee celebration.
"It was a real privilege to perform for the Queen who was just
a couple of yards away. This was a very exciting and unusual experience
which I will treasure all my life".
Shivani, age15, is a student of Guru Shree Prakash Yaddagudde and Mrs.
Sivashakti Sivanesan of Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan Kensington. She
has been learning Bharatnatyam for last 7 yrs and done her Arangetram
last year.
She has also learnt Classical Ballet from Royal School of Dancing.
She is also learning Jazz and Street dancing from The Pineapple Studio-
London.
Shivani has given lot of performances, at many prestigious places like
Millennium dome, Royal Albert, at such an early age.
